What should I expect from the first session?

I understand starting therapy can feel daunting and making you feel comfortable and safe is my main priority. The first session will be getting to know each other and working out if we are the right fit. Its also a good opportunity to discuss your goals and aims of therapy, talk through the confidentiality agreement and the frequency of sessions.

What is counselling?

Counselling is a form of talking therapy that aims to explore and manage difficult emotions with a trained therapist. The counsellor will not give advice or fix your problems but walk along side you on your journey offering alternative perspectives and insights. The therapist provides a safe, non judgmental and confidential space just for you to navigate difficult thoughts and emotions.

What if I don’t click with my therapist?

Its important to acknowledge if you feel therapist isn’t the correct person to work with. Its advisable to give at least two sessions to work this out. Its ok to change your therapist after all this is your time and your money. Research supports the client counsellor relationship to be the most significant factor in client change.

How much do sessions cost?

Each therapy session costs £55 per lasting 50 minutes. I offer discounts for a selected number of clients depending on their circumstances. Block bookings are discounted. I can travel to your home subject to your circumstances and location.

Do I need counselling?

Their isn’t a specific criteria to access counselling, no issue is too small or big to discuss with me. I offer a free 15 minute introductory call which can answer any queries you have.
